Nicolas Jean Baptiste was born on March 8, 1989 in Virginia and grew up in Stafford, Texas. He attended Strake Jesuit College Prep and earned first-team All-District honors on offense and defense during his senior year. He also was top on the team for tackles-for-loss.
In 2007, Nicolas Jean Baptiste was a walk-on to the Baylor Bears football team and chose to redshirt. In 2008 he played in all 12 games. He was a reserve defensive lineman and earned his first letter. By the end of the season he had 9 tackles, four of which were solo.
