Number 17 Mike Hicks was raised in China Spring, Texas. He attended China Spring High School where he was a record-setting player. He carried 38 times during his senior year and averaged 6.36 yards per carry.
After the 2008 season, Mike Hicks sat back to decide which offers he would accept for college play. He decided to stay close to home in central Texas and selected the Baylor Bears as his next level of football action.
