Lanear Sampson was born on July 17, 1990 and grew up in Mequite, Texas. As a student at North Mesquite High School, Lanear Sampson was a standout football player. Rivals.com ranked him 50th nationally among all wide receivers. During his senior year, he nabbed 49 passes totaling 886 yards and 6 touchdowns. Both Rivals.com and Scout.com put him as a 3-star recruit. In 2007, he earned honorable mention Class 5A all-state honors. In addition to his work onfield, Lanear Sampson was also involved in North Mesquite's PALS (Positive Assistance For Live Time Skills) program.
