Baylor Bears Player Krys Buerck grew up in Mesquite, Texas, the son of Brent and Debra Buerck. He attended Mesquite High School. As a senior on the football team, Krys Buerck made 48 passes for 970 yards and 12 touchdowns. Rankings like these earned him conference MVP honors and all-state nods.
Krys Buerck was more than ready for college level play. When Krys Buerck arrived on the Baylor campus in fall 2007, he earned lots of playing time due to his amazing skills. As a true freshman wide receiver, Krys Buerck competed in 10 games, earning six starts. He was the Baylor Bears' 6th best receiver due to his 23 receptions totaling over 280 yards and two touchdown!
In 2008, Krys Buerck was a sophomore who played in and started the same amount of games as in 2007. He was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for fall 2008 and spring 2009.
As a junior in 2009, Krys Buerck saw action in all 12 games. He became the Baylor Bears' starting punt returner and backup receiver.
