Hunter Hightower was born on October 20, 1988 and grew up in Richardson, Texas. His mother taught in the Baylor nursing program for 13 years so Hunter Hightower was well acquainted with the school before arriving on campus in fall 2007.
Hunter Hightower chose to redshirt his freshman year in 2007. In 2008, he participated in 4 games as an offensive lineman. During this time he was a reserve player, seeing action primarily later in the games or when a teammate was injured.
Back in high school, Hunter Hightower spent his years at Pearce High School. He was a strong academic student and also ranked 69 our of 100 on the Dallas Morning News Area list of high school football players. He was also an honorable mention for all-state honors by the AP.
