More Info
David Gettis hails from the big city of Los Angeles, California. He attended Dorsey High School and always seemed to have high goals and a tightly focused future. For example, he committed to the Baylor Bears back in 2004--two years before he even set foot officially on the field as a freshman in 2006.

David Gettis was a member of the All-American Bowl and was ranked as California's 50th best wide receiver by Rivals.com. As a senior for the Dorsey High School football team, David Gettis caught 31 passes totalling 600 yards and nine touchdowns. This led to all-city honors.

David Gettis put his speed to work on the track, too. As a sophomore, he won the state title in the 400 meter dash, clocking in at 47.1 seconds and bettered his record by almost a full second to claim the same honor during his junior year. He was named the 2005 Boys Track and Field Athlete of the year in L.A.

In 2006, David Gettis was a true freshman. He participated in 11 games as a back-up and made 4 receptions for 82 yards. In 2007, David Gettis made 8 starts and competed in all games, earning his second varsity letter. He was third on the team for reception length, averaging slightly over 13 yards.

In 2008, David Gettis played in all 12 games with 10 starts. He had 29 receptions for 391 yards though no scores. He also returned 4 kicks, totaling 93 yards.

David Gettis is slated to start the majority of games again in 2009. To catch him live, purchase your Baylor Bears tickets today.
