Chris Griesenbeck was born on December 21, 1986 and he grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Lee High School where he played as tight end for the Lee High School Rebels football team.
After graduation from Lee High School, Chris Griesenbeck went to Baylor and decided to redshirt for his first season with the Baylor Bears football team. In 2007, Chris Griesenbeck was back for his sophomore season and participated in 6 games as a reserve left offensive tackle. When starter Jason Smith was injured, Chris Griesenbeck stepped in and played 44 snaps. He earned his first letter after this season.
In 2008, Chris Griesenbeck was involved in all 12 games. He got his chance due to a teammate's injury and then worked his way into the lineup as a starter for the last four games. He was a member of the strong Baylor Bears football offensive line which pushed for 2,349 rushing yards.
