Carter Brunelle was born on April 15, 1987 and grew up in Duluth, Georgia--one of the few Baylor Bears from the south-east. He played high school football at Wesleyan School though, surprisingly, he didn't earn a varsity letter until his senior year. At that point, Carter Brunelle was playing as linebacker and offensive line.
Carter Brunelle was not recruited out of high school. In fact, he didn't even reach out to the Baylor Bears until his sophomore year in 2007. Played in all 12 games as junior in 2008 to earn first Baylor letter... Former walk-on awarded scholarship in fall 2008... First-string deep snapper, made all special teams snaps throughout the season. At that point, Carter Brunelle chose to walk-on to the team as a snapper, and he became the backup. Though he dressed for the games, he didn't see any action.
In 2008, Carter Brunelle's luck began to turn. He played in all 12 games over the course of the season and earned a varsity letter. Additionally, he was awarded a scholarship for his snapping and was the team's first-string deep snapper.
