Ben Parks was born on October 16, 1989 and grew up in Argyle, Texas. He graduated from Argyle High School where he punted and played linebacker. He was a twice picked first-team selection by the Texas Sports Writers Association. He was also an all-state choice. Scout.com put Ben Parks as the U.S.' 26th best place kicker. During his senior year, Ben Parks made 11 out of 17 field goals.
In 2008, Ben Parks was a true freshman player for the Baylor Bears--just one of 6 to see playing time. He played in all 12 games and earned a varisty letter. He kicked 44 out of 45 for the Baylor Bears and made 39. His kickoff average was 56 yards.
