Lucky number 7, Antonio Johnson, was born on June 26, 1988 and grew up in Waco, Texas--almost in the backyard of the Baylor Bears football team. In high school, Antonio Johnson was lauded by several organizations. The Waco Tribune-Herald named him Defensive Player of Year and the same newspaper also put him as a top 100 recruit (number 4, specifically). He was also placed on the All-Texas team courtesy of Jake Shaw. During his senior year, Antonio Johnson helped Waco High School to a 13-3 standing and runner up to the DII playoffs.
In 2007, Antonio Johnson was a true freshman for the Baylor Bears. He competed in 11 games and recorded 16 tackles. Though he had to miss one game due to injury, he managed to stay in for the rest of the season and earned his first letter.
